1. "Is clay target shooting completely safe ?"
A. YES, in fact there has NEVER been a serious accident or death at any NZ clay target club. I would say this is one of the safest sports available.
2. "Can anyone participate ? "
A. Anyone over 15 years (younger with parental supervision) You can be any shape or size, fit or unfit, in a wheel chair, The last I checked our oldest member was 82 years and still hitting targets regularly
3. "Will the gun hurt me ?"
A. NO, you will have expert instruction and the option of small gauge guns which nearly eliminate recoil. Small petite secondary school girls compete with the biggest guns allowed.
4. "What will I need to bring ?"
A. Just yourself, dressed smartly in casual clothes (NB Jandals & sandals are NOT suitable). ALL equipment such as safety glasses, hearing protection, guns and cartridges are supplied.
5. "Do I need a shooters license ?"
A. NO, You will be under direct instruction and supervision from a qualified range safety & instruction officer.
6. "Can women & men compete against each other ?"
A. In fact this is one sport where women have more success percentage wise, as it is not physically demanding.
